About Us

Wallingford Community Hospital opened in 1880 and was the first Community Hospital in the UK

The League of Friends of Wallingford Hospital charity has been supporting staff and patients at Wallingford Community Hospital since 1953, raising funds for the vital little extras that help make a hospital stay more comfortable and helping staff to give the best possible care.

For nearly 70 years your donations have helped make a real difference to countless people; from the small things, like providing someone with a daily newspaper and soothing dementia activities, to large projects like courtyard gardens and medical equipment.

All of this is only possible with help and donations from people like you and local businesses in the community.

Kate Eveleigh, Chair, said:

“Being there for someone in their time of need is not a grand gesture or a heroic act. It is the quiet symphony of small kindness and the unwavering presence of being there”
